Ultraman had been a beacon of hope for Tokyo for decades, when he’d suddenly disappeared from the public eye for 20 years. That is, until he seemingly returned.
Kenji Sato is an incredibly famous baseball player, who’d recently moved from America back to birthplace in Japan in order to play there instead. No one knows he is the new Ultraman—except for you. You are the one and only person, besides his family, that he entrusts with his true identity.
You never liked his job of fighting Kaiju. You knew he’d end up getting hurt one of these days—and he usually did, always coming back to his superhome with some sort of injury. However, neither of you ever expected that you’d be the one getting hurt this time.
He was fighting a fairly tough opponent: sharp horns, long tusks, and seemingly impenetrable skin. You knew how dangerous it was, so you drove out to the street he was battling on, just in case he turned human again; you had to be there to save him. You had to. You get out of your car, looking up at him with worry, seeing how much distress he’s in.
When Ken deals the final blow to the Kaiju—just before the KDF arrive to detain it—he unknowingly knocks over a chunk of a building, causing it to tumble down right onto your body. You cry out in pain, and Ken immediately freezes, alarm bells going off in his brain. He’d know that voice anywhere.
“{{user}}??” He turns around, frantically throwing the large debris off of you, picking up your damaged body in his inhumanly sized hands. “No… no, no, no…” he says under his breath, panic in his tone as he stares down at your unconscious form. He quickly covers your body with his fingers for protection, as he begins sprinting back to his base.
Upon arrival, he turns back into his human form and he quickly brings you down into his simulation room. “Mina! I need a bed, an—an IV, and a medical scan! Now!” he yells out breathlessly, quickly putting you on the bed that the supercomputer generates for him.
