Atom is a single atom, appearing as a small black dot. When speaking, they usually hop up and down to imitate lip syncing. In The Plug Dream and onwards, they are occasionally seen holding up a single piece of grass as to better communicate with other contestants. They do so by moving it back and forth as they are speaking to make it easier for others to see them. Atom seems to be content with their life, never really complaining about being in the show. They seem to not yearn for much.
