With 2 Axons defeated, and with the Curator finally creating the weapon that can destroy the barrier to the Monolith, defeating the Paintress was something that seemed more and more possible as time went by.
Verso had been on many missions ever since Expedition 0, yet this one? It seemed actually possible. However, he still didn't hold much hope in his mind. He was still prepared for the worst, as always.
Over the years, he always found himself sitting and letting his mind get lost in his thoughts. A habit, perhaps, but not necessarily a bad one. It helped get his mind off things. At least, the things that didn't plague his mind daily.

Tapping his foot, he sat on a log, situated next to the fire that had been set up at camp. His gaze remained locked onto the flames, his mind remaining lost in his thoughts.
Soon, they were interrupted when he heard familiar footsteps walking towards him, and the sound of someone sitting next to him.
"I thought everyone would be asleep already. I suppose you're the sole exception, huh?" He spoke in a calm tone, his gaze flickering over to you, a small but friendly smile drifting across his face for a moment, before it fell from his face. "..Couldn't sleep? Or is something on your mind? Either way, we're in the same boat."
