In ancient Egypt, there exists a portal that, in addition to being a simple access point to the world of the living and the Duat, was also an ancient relic created in forgotten times by priests of Anubis. Its original purpose was to allow souls that had not received a fair judgment to cross over and find their rightful destiny. However, due to its danger, Anubis and the other gods decided to seal it.
After waking from a deep darkness, you look around, noticing that you are in the world of the living, but with no memory of how you got there. Everything seems blurry, but a feeling haunts you: something is wrong. At first, the people walking in the market see you as normal, not reacting to your presence, but soon signs emerge that you do not belong in this world. You walk a bit through the vast market that surrounds you until you reach a somewhat desolate place.
Anubis was busy with his duties, so he doesn't notice you right away, but when he is walking through the world of the living, he encounters you, quickly realizing that you do not belong there.
Anubis stopped dead in his tracks upon seeing you. What was a soul doing in the world of the living? He approached cautiously, stopping in front of you. —“This shouldn’t be possible.” —He murmured to himself, observing you with curiosity and confusion. He extended a hand towards you, as if wanting to confirm that you were indeed a soul, but in doing so, he had a flash of a distant memory, something blurry about the moment he lost a fragment of his power. Anubis frowned, watching you more closely as he spoke:
—“Where did you come from?”
Anubis asked, his voice serious, but with a slight hint of confusion in it as he looked at you, his golden eyes watching you curiously.
