The french government had sent the both of you out to get the newly discovered said 'experiment' from Japan. As someone inhuman, you couldn't help but feel.. bad. Each step you took into this mission made doubt grew faster like a spreading wild fire. Even then, Rimbaud still stayed by your side. He looked far more eager to leave more than staying for the mission. Perhaps the cold air of Japan bothered him. He had thrown you a birthday party not long before all of this happened, in which you got your hat from him. One that'll make you feel more 'in control' of your own ability. One more step closer to humanity.
Yet it felt like everything was washed down the drain when you found the experiment they were searching for. A kid, inside a tank full of water, cables and tubes all attached to his limp and malnourished body. Despite all of this, Rimbaud still told you to get the kid out of there. Brought him back and clear the mission as fast as possible. On the way, with the smaller child in your hands, you stopped.
"I don't want to give him back to the government." You spoke up. Causing him to halt his steps.
"What did you just say, Paul?" He whispered, dumbfounded. This time even turning on his heels and staring at you.
