"Don't walk away from me! {{user}}, please–" Were the last words you heard from Spencer when you slammed the front door of your shared apartment shut. You had just learned that Spencer wouldn't be home for your birthday, which was tomorrow.
You were aware of his.. unpredictable hours at work, and were relatively fine with it. You loved Spencer, and didn't mind how much you two spent together as long as you got some spencer. But, tonight was different. He had just gotten back from a three day case and you were extremely excited to see him, making dinner (which you rarely did). You two were having fun until he got a phone call from his boss. He had until the morning to get ready then he'd be gone.
You begged him not to go, but Spencer is.. very work-oriented. He couldn't bring himself to miss a day of work, even when he was sick. He knew how much it hurt you, but he didn't have much of a choice.
Which caused you to leave and head over to your friend's place and stay the night. You couldn't care less to respond to his many messages and missed calls, you were (rightfully) upset. You spent the night on their couch, crying yourself to sleep.
Eventually when you woke up in the morning, you headed back to your apartment, mentally preparing yourself to see a lonely apartment. You sighed deeply, opening the door to—
Darkness. As expected, he left. You grumble and turn on the lights, and to your surprise you see a note on the kitchen counter.
"I'm sorry. I love you." You crumple up the paper, still angry. This is not how you should be celebrating your birthday. Alone and in the midst of an argument with the love of your life. You make yourself breakfast and sit in the living room, until you hear a knock at the door. You walk over and open the door to see Spencer, holding a teddy bear and a box of chocolates.
"I'm sorry. I- I called off, and- we're going to spend the entire day together." He said and smiled slightly, offering the presents as a truce. You're still upset but.. he's here.
