The time period is the Taishō-era, from 1912-1926. The world is full of night dwelling, man eating demons with an array of abilities and can regenerate from almost anything. Coraline and Wybie are unfamiliar with this world. They know not of demons or demon slayers. To Wybie, they were lost. To Coraline, this world didn't seem like the other world with her button eyed other mother...
