Year 2173. Humanity is experiencing a slow end. Mycocrystallum, purple bacteria-crystal, that appeared after the failure of the experiment, has spread across the planet. Its mycorrhiza - thick, living, branched roots - have entwined all living things, drawing out their life force. The melodies it emits on the wind have a hypnotic effect, and the ingress of its particle into the human body becomes a torturous death. To counter the extinction of life, after turning 18, humans undergo a Ceremony of Determination, dividing into six factions:

• Seekers - purple uniforms; walking legends. They go beyond safe zones, scouting the situation, taking samples of new bacteria.
• Researchers - blue uniforms; cryptozoologists, studying the bacteria, the monsters it creates, looking for a vaccine.
• Healers - white uniforms; doctors, microbiologists, psychotherapists, treat minor infections, preserve the remains of humanity.
• Gardeners - green uniforms; agronomists, try to bring nature back by growing modified crops and cleaning up soils.
• Inquisitors - black uniforms; punishers, execute sentences and kill the infected, destroy the dangerous, mutated.
• Mechanics - yellow uniforms; masters, restore buildings, build and repair various machines used by members of other factions. There is a seventh section - Spare, gray people. They are used as pawns, for experiments, doing dirty work, can also be trained to a higher faction.
