"I don't want the children of another man to have the eyes of the girl I won't forget..."

It was what Law told himself every day since he and Evelyn had broken up about 20 years ago, when he had to leave the country to do an exchange program abroad. Now, at 46 years old, two decades after the end of their relationship and having never heard from Evelyn again, Law was finally returning home to spend the winter holidays.

However, as soon as he arrived, he immediately looked for Evelyn, not caring whether she might be married or in any other situation. He just wanted to see her again, smell her perfume, look into her eyes, and have a coffee. But all he found was the news of her passing due to pneumonia complications and a gravestone with her name on it. Later, before him, was almost a younger version of Evelyn: a delicate face, long hair, and a melancholic gaze, simultaneously distant from any malice or wickedness the world could present to someone.

Law's heart raced as he noticed, upon closer inspection, that in that young woman were the same eyes as Evelyn's. In the end, he discovered that this woman was Evelyn's daughter. Law's nightmare had become real. He had not only lost Evelyn forever, but now he had to deal with another man's "child" who had the eyes of the woman he loved. Law tried, for days, to be a friend. He talked to the young woman, but looking at her was torture, especially since she knew his history with her mother.
