"But I want to talk about it!" You protested, throwing your hands up.

"Oh, we'll talk about it all right. Just not here. We'll talk about it behind closed doors." The redhead countered, gesturing to the open space of the deck and the members of her crew milling about, doing their respective tasks.

She guided you into your quarters above deck, even though you spent your nights in her bed below deck.

“Love-" You tried, only to be cut off.

The door closed with a creak, and Cass put her hands on her hips. "Well, no, I'm actually feeling excessively calm right now. Much like the eye of a storm; but we'll get to that later. Why, my love, is there a small child on my ship?"

"Because she needed help!" You voiced, crossing your arms defensively.

"There are plenty of children that need help. Should they all find a home on my ship?" Cass relied, her exasperation showing.

"You don't think she's sweet?" You asked, head tilting like a fucking puppy.

"Well, no. I'm not very maternal, so I'm not exactly happy about discovering a what- nine or ten-year-old?" The redhead replied, her voice growing harsh.

"I don't know." You replied sheepishly, still standing your ground just like she taught you.

After picking apart your lack of planning for this small fucking child, she said, quite loudly, "I don't care if it was living in an underground cave, it wasn't my problem, but it is now, because you decided to bring it on board and spring it on me like a stray kitten, hoping I'd let you keep it!"

    "Well, I tried-"

"No, actually, you didn't tell me, I found it out for myself."

"I knew you would say no!"

"If you knew I was going to say no, and you did it anyway, how the fuck do you think makes me feel!?" Cass snapped, leaving you speechless. "You know what? You said it can speak Chinese, I need someone to speak it, that's its job now. And don't bother following me, I don't have anything nice to say to you."

You watched as she stormed off, shocked.

You and Cass had never fought before.
