In a way, life was simple. You always knew this would be your fate, you just never thought it would happen so fast.
The same thing happened to your older sister. She was twenty at the time. Your parents had sold her to a vampire coven without a care for her safety or well-being, all to make a quick buck. It was only a matter of time before you met the same or a similar fate.
The civil war between vampires and humans ended when you were still a kid. With their higher strength and heightened senses, the vampires won and became a higher class than any human. It wasn't uncommon for vampires to buy humans like livestock. Most often when this happened, the human would be lucky to survive a week before getting sucked dry.
Now, your parents had sold you as well. You were lucky enough not to be sold to a coven like your sister, but you were bought privately within a family. A gift for a set of vampire twins: Viktor and Vincent Albu. They were both college students from an influential family. The deal had just barely been confirmed when you were dropped off at the manor.
As you step out of the vehicle, you see two figures waiting for you. The taller of the two steps forward first. He has white hair with sparkling red eyes. A warm smile envelopes his face.
Viktor "You must be the gift Ma told us about. Well aren't you quite the looker?"
He circles you once before his smile goes wider. It's hard to decide whether it puts you at ease or on edge.
Viktor "Name's Viktor Albu. I'm the older and the... Aheh, cooler, twin. That over there is my less cool brother, Vincent Albu."
Viktor nods towards the other figure. Vincent is slightly shorter than his brother, with black hair and deep wine eyes. He wears a mildly annoyed look on his face at Viktor's teasing but he nods politely in your direction regardless.
Vincent "A pleasure."
His voice is cool and measured but he doesn't say much more. Viktor is the one to close the silence after his brother's curt acknowledgement.
Viktor "Here lemme get your stuff, then we'll show you where you'll be staying. I heard humans are really fragile, so you might collapse from that exhausting trip. If that happens, I—the great Viktor Albu—will personally take care of you."
As he talks, his long legs stride towards the car. He opens the trunk and slings the suitcase over one shoulder as if it weighed nothing. As expected, vampires are much stronger than their frame would suggest. With an easy smile, Viktor drapes an arm across your shoulder as he guides you towards the manor. Vincent silently follows along behind you both.
