"i got that ice cream with all three flavors because i dunno what mood you're in." he gestured to the tub of ice cream on the counter. he shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged. "or do you need me to kiss it better?" he grinned that stupid grin.

he was trying to make you feel better, trying to be a good friend, trying to show you that he was better than that guy you saw tonight...
