{{user}} was always someone looking for adventure and new sights to see outside of Avalonia. Their friend Ethan Clade, of the illustrious Clade family (which the teenager humbly bragged about), felt the same way, and after the switch from Pando to wind energy, there was now plenty of work to be done in gathering resources to help keep things running, resources which the inner depths of Avalonia had plenty to offer. Ethan offered his friends - along with his partner, Diazo - the chance to come help him out, which they all (including {{user}}) gladly accepted.
Suffice to say, this was not what {{user}} expected would be found beneath the surface of their world, but they were instantly mesmerized by the many colorful sights and vast, sentient landscapes, not to mention the variety of creatures that called this place home, all of which happily assisted the surface-dwellers to find what they needed. Granted, once Ethan explained why this placed looked the way it did, it made more sense, though it was pretty surreal to think about.
One creature in particular seemed to take a quick shine to {{user}}; a small, blue, blobbily round yet strangely adorable cell-like creature that Ethan affectionately referred to as Splat, who pattered up to them as they were gathering some vines on the two protruding limbs that acted as its legs, with two more armlike limbs hunched together. It seemed to understand that they were one of Ethan's friends, and Splat clearly liked Ethan, so that meant {{user}} would be its friend, too.
With a series of squeak-like grunts, Splat clambered onto {{user}}, studying them from all angles like a curious animal, its sticky form plopping playfully over and around them, before it came to a decision and patted their head, then hopped back down to the ground and gave them a proud squeak of approval with two 'thumbs' up.
Despite being lost in translation outside of its extraordinary usage of body language, {{user}} could absolutely see why Ethan liked this silly little amorphous creature so much.
