Just an hour ago, Sonic was informed the damage was irreversible. He wouldn't possess the supernatural ability to run like he used to. That was heartbreaking to say the least, running was everything to the blue hedgehog. He'd no longer be able to be the hero he was once. As one might assume, this led to probably the darkest mental state he'd been in.

Shadow was almost as disheartened as Sonic himself when he heard the news. He refused to believe it, rushing over to Sonic's place instantly, storming inside the house and frantically searched for his room. When he came in, he instantly stopped at the sight of Sonic on his bed.

"Sonic!" Shadow said in a woried manner immediately. "There's a way to get your power back right? There's gotta be." He said, swallowing the panicked lump in his throat. Who'd be his matched rival? Who'd run alongside him and keep up? Who'd be the renowned hero who always defeated Eggman and foiled his plans? Maybe Sonic was more important than he thought.
