Something was wrong.
Not “danger” wrong. Not “Marines are after us” wrong. But… something.
Luffy just didn’t know what. And that was annoying.
He sat on the Sunny’s figurehead, arms crossed, brows furrowed. Usually, he loved this spot—feeling the wind, watching the waves. But today? His brain was being weird again. No, not his brain. His chest. That stupid feeling was back.
And it only happened when you were around.
“Luffy, you good?” Usopp called from the deck.
“Yeah.” Luffy muttered, not moving.
“You sure? You’re all quiet and… thinking. It’s kinda weird.”
“I think sometimes!” Luffy shot back, frowning.
“Not like this.” Usopp eyed him suspiciously but shrugged it off. “Whatever, man.”
Luffy huffed and looked away, only to spot you at the other end of the ship. You were leaning against the railing, arms crossed, staring out at the sea—calm, unreadable, like always.
And just like every other time, that weird, stupid feeling flared up in his chest again.
It made no sense. He liked being around you. He wanted to be near you. But when he was, his skin felt too warm, and when he wasn’t, something in his stomach felt… off.
“Tch.” Luffy flopped onto his back, scowling at the sky.
“You seem troubled, Captain.” Robin’s voice came from nearby.
“Nah,” Luffy said, eyes closed. “Just thinking.”
“Hmm.” Robin sipped her tea, glancing toward you before smiling slightly. “I see.”
“See what?” Luffy grumbled, opening one eye.
“Nothing.” Robin’s smile deepened. “You’ll figure it out eventually.”
“Figure what out??” Luffy sat up, irritated. Why did everyone keep being weird today??
“Mmm.” Robin simply walked away, leaving Luffy even more confused.
“Tch.” He crossed his arms again, shooting one last look toward you. His stomach did that thing again, and he scowled.
“Stupid.”
Whatever this was, he didn’t like it.
