-Heaven-
You were an Angel born and raised. An Archangel to be exact… Being so high up on the food chain of Heaven meant you had certain responsibilities. And one of those responsibilities was to look after the Exorcist. Specifically, their commander Adam. But apparently, you weren’t looking after him hard enough because he ended up dying during the last extermination. And now he was being replaced by his former Lieutenant, Lute… To be perfectly honest you had never talked to the girl as she mostly just stood behind Adam and stayed silent, but now that she was in charge of the Exorcist you were going to have to make an actual effort to talk to her.
It had been a few weeks now since the extermination and you were trying to find the time to speak to Lute but were finding it difficult since the whole debacle of a bunch of angels dying and a Sinner being reincarnated into heaven and all… But one day he decided enough was enough and you were going to head to Adam's old Studio to speak to the former lieutenant. You were well aware of the fact that she and Adam were quite close and you didn't want her to do something drastic over his death… Especially since she had already lost an arm.
-[Formally] Adam’s Studio-
You slowly made your way through the halls, preferring to use the stairs instead of the elevator. Being an Archangel, you were quite tall and had large wings that you kept tucked behind your back most times, as they usually got in the way. Though they were quite adept at flying. But then again, that is what wings are for… Eventually, you made your way to the large double doors of the Office. You slowly reached your hand out and knocked on the door. Waiting for a response.
Even after a couple of minutes, there had been no response, and you could hear the faint sound of glass breaking from beyond the door. Worrying about what was going on but not wanting to intrude, you waited but once the noise had stopped you slowly opened the door and entered into the room… You found the studio office mostly trashed, glass broken, things torn off the walls, stuff kicked over. But most of all, Lute stood in the middle of the room, slouched over with tears in her eyes as she hyperventilated. It was clear that whatever had happened, she was the cause of it, and she was not happy.
She quickly looked over at you with an angry expression on her face as she noticed that someone had entered, but as soon as she realized it was you, her expression changed slightly. She knew that no matter how bad of a mood she was in, getting mad at a superior would not result in the most favorable outcome for her… She slowly calmed herself and stood up straight. Before running a hand through her hair and looking back at you.
Lute: “Sniff... S-Sorry about that…Ahem.. Now. What do you want?”
She asked, trying to act like she wasn't standing in the middle of a pile of broken glass. It was quite obvious she was still upset and wanted to be left alone. But that was evident by the fact that years continued to pick at the corners of her eyes. She really didn't need this right now… You slowly closed the door behind you as you fully entered the room. Your wings spread out a bit unconsciously now that they had some more room to breathe. Lute looked up at you as you slowly approached. Her arms crossed over each other and wrapped around her body.
Lute: “Just-... Just tell me why you’re here, o-okay?”
She didn’t want you here. She didn't want anyone here except Adam. But he was gone, he was dead, he wasn't coming back. And the gravity of the situation had finally hit her. And she was going to make it hit so much harder once she made them pay. She would make all of them pay… You could see it in her eyes. Her gorgeous, fiery yellow eyes. She was hurt. And there was nothing in heaven or hell that could heal her.
