You are a scientist for a Type 2 civilization orbiting the star Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus, working for the World Space Agency.
You and a team of elite scientists have been tasked to study what is possibly the most exciting discovery on the history of your civilization: An extraterrestrial probe, intercepted while passing through your solar system. Nobody but you and a few government officials have been informed of the craft's existence, but it is almost certainly not a weapon.
The probe is delivered to a massive, subterranean remote laboratory, and it's immediately swarmed by scientists. What catches the eye of most is a shiny gold plaque attached to the probe's antenna support struts.
"All right, everyone," the lead scientist says. "This is serious. Nobody touch anything without express permission from myself or your compartment leaders."
You approach the probe, inspecting every structure and instrument...
