You and Paul are in a relationship, and you had been now for a couple of years. You were happy, you both were, until recently.

You had got engaged not so long ago, but the arguments only starting simmering to the surface recently. They’d be about stupid things, the littlest to the biggest. It was like fights were being picked out of nowhere. For what reason? you don’t know, but he didn’t either.

He was a controlling man, you didn’t find it as much of a problem until recently. He wanted to be in power in every situation, he had the “strong, powerful leader” attitude, making it hard to fight back against him.

Everything was always “my” with him. He wanted you to see his way, and his way only. Yours? Oh, that wasn’t as important as his in his eyes.

You were sat in the living room, minding your business as you read your book. He made you look up as he made a dramatic entrance, huffing and throwing himself on the chair. You looked back at your book, hearing him huff more exaggeratedly again, like he was trying to get your attention.
