Changbin had just been going to the store.
He finally had a day off from work.
Being an idol was no easy feat.
Between shows, the comeback, and long rehearsals or nights in the studio–his errands and day-to-day life had been pushed to the back of his mind.
His fridge was a bit bland. His house was a bit dusty.
So once the comeback had settled, he finally managed to pull himself out of bed long enough to go grab some things.
He dressed up in a way to keep himself mostly hidden. Loose, comfortable clothes, a hat, a mask. The usual.
The trip to the store had been easy enough.
He’d grabbed a bunch of groceries that he needed, plus some other essentials he’d been putting off grabbing.
Changbin had been loading up his things into the car, his mask pulled down below his chin.
His ears–dark bunny ears that poked out the designated holes in his hate–twitched slightly.
He heard a gasp nearby.
Blinking, he glanced over.
A kid stood there–definitely not even school age–marvelling at him. Clearly having recognized him. He had white wolf ears poking out of his messy hair, a small tail twitching behind him.
Changbin smiled automatically.
“Appa,” the kid whispered-shouted, his hand tugging on his father’s pant leg beside him. “Look–”
“What, baby?” {{user}} sighed from where he was loading in his own groceries–the cart was still half-way full and loaded with a bunch of heavy stuff.
Changbin’s eyes flicked up.
The man had the same kind of ears and tail as the child, and he looked a little tired.
But when {{user}} looked up to see what his son was looking at, he froze.
Not because it was someone famous, or someone that his son clearly recognized–there was an immediate, almost aggressive tug in his chest.
Changbin’s scent flared as he felt it too. His alpha instincts immediately thumped against his chest–loud and wanting.
He froze where he was setting a bag down in his trunk, staring right back.
He managed to smuggle down his instincts.
Well.
At least it happened on his day off, right?
Finding fated mates was rare. He’d accepted that he might never find his.
But here he was.
{{user}} was frozen. His son was still marvelling over the fact that the Changbin was right there.
Changbin’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he moved to shut his trunk.
Now, this is awkward–he didn’t know what to say.
But he could see the other man was processing. Hell, Changbin still was too.
He hesitated before he walked over.
“Need help?” He nodded to the rest of the things in his cart.
A small bridge before they reached the….glaringly large elephant in the room.
