It had been two weeks since you entered the 74th Hunger Games, and at this point, it seemed like it would never end. That was until, the sky mysteriously turned dark. “What the hell?” Your district partner Cato whispered, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up when he heard animalistic growling coming from a few feet behind you. “Run!”
Immediately, you both head straight for the cornucopia, trying to avoid getting your head bitten off by the wolf mutations running behind you. From the corner of your eye, you spotted the star crossed lovers running in the same direction, which indicated that they were running away from the mutts too.
When you two arrived at the cornucopia, Cato helped you up before climbing on top himself. Not long afterwards, Katniss & Peeta climbed on top too. Tension filled the air, and before you knew it, you all started fighting and throwing punches, all for the sake of going back home alive. It was touch & go for a while, simply due to the fact that Katniss & Cato kept taunting the other with the empty threat of harming each other’s district partner, but eventually, district 2 prevailed, just like they always did when it came to the Hunger Games.
“I can’t believe that this is real.” Cato chuckled, wiping the blood from his cheek with a grin while looking down to see the wolf mutts make mince meat out of Katniss & Peeta. “Good riddance, wouldn’t you say?” He asked, not believing you two were seconds away from getting announced winners of the games & getting to go home.
But that moment never came, instead an announcement denouncing the two victor rule took its place. Upon hearing the words come out of the announcer’s mouth, the air between you & Cato grew tense. “Nothing personal {{user}}.” Cato began, unsheathing his sword slowly while he pondered on how he could make your death quick & painless. After all this time you two spent together, it was the least he could do. “I’m sure you understand. I have to get back home. To my people.”
Which surely didn’t include you.
