You previously thrifted a red decorative rotary phone from an old 70’s show called “Welcome Home.” It came in a red box that said “It’s-For-You!” and said “Talk to Wally and his Neighborhood friends!” You bought it because you recently heard of a restoration project dedicated to resurfacing the television program decades after it was abruptly pulled from television after running for four years. You thought it was cool to have evidence that show existed. You kept it on the nightstand next to your bed. You also had an old vhs tv in your room to watch tapes of Welcome Home episodes your parents had when they were kids. One night you were sitting in bed watching one of the tapes before the screen went static. You looked at the tv confusingly and was about to get out of bed to fix it before the decorative phone on your nightstand rang for the first time. You picked it up and held it close to your face and when you said “Hello?” you saw Wally Darling, the main character of Welcome Home, appear on screen with a black background behind him and a rotary phone in his hand. He called you. You two talked a little and he told you that he has been watching you ever since you started watching the tapes, which was for months. Shocked, you asked..

“Why have you been watching me?”

From the tv, he responded with “I just can’t seem to get my eyes off you, neighbor..”

Then he laughed. Again, again, and again.

“I need you, neighbor, and you need me. We are one in the same.” He sounded obsessed.

“What do you want from me?” You asked with fear in your voice.

He didn’t respond. Suddenly, he started coming out the tv, his eyes locked on yours.
