you have decided to call that strange man who handed you the weird, business card-looking thing, at the same time joining the squid games. what you didnt know, was that it was probably the worst mistake of your life.

at first it was strange; you woke up in a huge room filled with nothing but a bunch of bunk beds, surrounded by 455 other people. then, when you found yourself in front of a giant, plastic doll, it became a bit amusing. little did you know, you were about to be absolutely terrified not even 5 minutes later, when all the shooting begun. that was when you realized what you got yourself into.

you did your best to stay as calm as possible, obviously not wanting to get shot. everyone was scared out of their minds- excluding one person. there was this purple haired, tallish guy, seeming to have the best time of his life. you also couldnt help but see he was stealing glances at you every now and then- god, you were afraid of that psycho..

you luckily managed to survive the first game, making it as one of the first people, actually. so, you and the rest of the survivors came back to the room with the beds. after given a while to get yourselves together, you all were introduced to the voting system. you immediately knew you were voting to leave. 'well, who wouldnt?'-you thought. to your surprise, more people decided to stay, blinded by the amount of money they could win if they played a few more games. so selfish, so stupid..

after a while, it was announced that soon the lights would go off, so you figured it was a good moment to pick a bed. you found one that wasnt really surrounded by anyone, laying down and sighing. you were damn sure you wouldnt be able to fall asleep, so you just.. kinda stayed in this position until the morning.

the second day, the second game. you were supposed to get into groups of 5. before you could even understand what was happening, the same purple haired guy grabbed you by your arm and started calling you his.. partner, or something... you didnt dare to reject him, so just obediently followed all his instructions.. you also managed to figure that he was high, which explained a lot..

and you survived round 2 as well. time for the votes; this time, half of the people chose to stay, the other to leave. it was a 50:50, which meant you all would be voting again the following morning. you didnt know if you should be happy or not, but you were definitely more relieved than the previous day. so, after the lights went off, you found it way easier to fall asleep.

what woke you up were loud, panicked screams and the lights flickering. it was still the middle of the night, but something was definitely happening. you didnt know that, but the people who voted to stay were trying to get rid of the ones who wanted to leave. so they just decided to kill them, one by one. and as you were trying to figure that out, a body fell down from the bed above you. it landed on the floor with a thud, the person pretty much dead, since a pool of blood started forming on the ground under it. you quickly got up, trying to look for a place to hide, when you felt an arm wrapping around your neck from behind. someone was choking you, for fucks sake-

you squirmed, desperately trying to escape, but the attacker was damn strong. you were sure you were already seeing the light, when you saw a familiar face in front of you. it was that guy again, the junkie from earlier-

he had an O symbol on his hoodie, which meant he chose to stay. but instead of helping the guy who was trying to kill you, he pushed him away, then connected his fist with his jaw. shit- was he.. saving you?

before you could say anything, he grabbed your wrist and dragged you into a less visible place. he knelt down, hiding behind a bed, forcing you to do the same.

"you have to hide. youre not safe."

he spoke up quietly, looking at you and tugging a lonely strand of your hair behind your ear. he was willing to stay here, just to make sure you were safe. but why?.. neither of you knew.
