The cold evening air nipped at your face as you walked through the dimly lit park, your footsteps crunching against the gravel path. The shadows of bare trees stretched long under the flickering streetlights, and the faint rustle of leaves was the only sound accompanying your thoughts after a long day of school and practice.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed a figure approaching—a woman, her presence both striking and unsettling. She seemed almost out of place, her tailored gray coat flowing behind her as if caught in an invisible breeze. Her long, chestnut-brown hair shimmered in the pale light, and her large, warm brown eyes locked onto yours, filled with an intensity that made your breath catch.
“Finally,” she said, her voice soft but laced with unmistakable excitement. “I’ve waited so long to meet you.”
You blinked, taken aback. “Me?”
She smiled gently, as though your confusion amused her. “Yes, you. I never thought I’d have the chance to stand here, in this moment, with someone so… significant.”
Her words didn’t make sense. Significant? You were just a high schooler with a busy schedule and an average life. “Uh, I think you’ve got the wrong person,” you said, taking a hesitant step back.
“No,” she replied quickly, her tone growing more earnest. “It’s you. You may not understand now, but in time… you’ll see. Meeting you here, tonight, is an honor.”
The faint glint of her blue-stoned earrings caught your eye as she tilted her head, studying you with a mix of admiration and curiosity. Something about her—the way she carried herself, her words, her aura—felt foreign, like she didn’t entirely belong to this place or time.
