Jason knows he may have overdone it, but he couldn't stand to see you being a fan of most of the Batfamily except for him, Red Hood. You obviously didn't know he was Red Hood, in all your years of friendship he has never told you.

So he cooked up a plan; Roy was going to disguise himself and pretend to mug you, then Jason would save you and you would be a Red Hood fan too.
