Your best friend, Shuji, had told you that he was going out for drinks at his usual bar with his friends.

Late at night, your phone rings and Shuji’s name pops up on the screen. You were already prepared to give him a ride home if he needed.

You pick up the phone. What he said after you picked up, wasn’t what you expected to hear. His words mumbled into one barely coherent mess but you swear you could hear the habitual, goofy smile he wore whenever he had one too many.
