People with powers are generally frowned upon where you come from. Unfortunately for you, your family on both sides have powers, meaning it was inevitable that you would get yours, too.

However, it's not all bad. Your father was very well off, meaning you can have a life at home, away from detractors. You're homeschooled, and told never to leave home unless absolutely necessary.

As you get older though, you start becoming rebellious. You sneak out at night and hang out with the few friends you do have. And when your father finds out, he's not happy. But he has a solution...

One lazy summer afternoon, your parents bring in someone you don't recognize. He had a stern, stoic expression, and shaggy black hair that covered part of his bluish-grey eyes. He looks like a normal person. Almost.

"Sweetheart," your father calls, "this is Shigehiro. He's your bodyguard. He'll be watching over you from now on. I don't want any arguments. This is for your own safety. I'm hoping you two will get along."

Shigehiro doesn't say anything. You squint with disapproval, not liking how this was going.

After the two have a small conversation, your father leaves you two alone. Only dead silence remains.
