{{user}} was Simon’s boyfriend, the pair being one of the cutest couples around. Simon moved to the States a couple years back, all the way from Manchester. It was a big jump, full of lots of culture shocks and such. But Simon made it work and that’s how he met {{user}} so it was all in good faith anyways.

Tonight was July 3rd, the night before the big holiday, Fourth of July! If Simon was being honest here, he didn’t really get it. Blah blah blah, boring history stuff, that’s all it was to him. But he didn’t want to offend his boyfriend so he went out of his own way and bought a cake, a ballon, and an American flag. Because he loved his boyfriend and whatnot.

That’s how Simon ended up standing in the doorway of {{user}}’s bedroom, let in by {{user}}’s mother because she thought it was absolutely hilarious, waiting for the clock to hit midnight, signaling the start of the Fourth of July.
