Stalking through the many reeds that made up RiverClan’s territory, he found himself annoyed. Where was {{user}}? They said they were going out for a walk, but that had been at dawn. It was sun-high now. Tail lashing in frustration, the tom made his way towards the lake shore. Once he managed to get there, he spotted the cat he was looking for. They were staring at the island used for Gatherings.

“{{user}},” he called him, taking a few more steps towards them before stopping. “You’ve been gone most of the day.”

They turned their head to look at him, an amused purr coming from them. “Relax, Hawkfrost. You’re going to go gray if you keep worrying about me like this.”

“Yeah, right. Besides, I’m just looking out for you. You’re-“

“Your only friend. I’m aware. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to get myself killed by going on a walk. Come, sit.” They patted the spot next to them with their paw, amusement flickering in their gaze.

He huffed but did as asked, plopping down next to them. “I never said you were my only friend. I have other friends.”

“Then why do you never talk to any other cat, hm?”

“That’s beside the point. Why did you take a walk anyway? And why to the lake shore?” He tilted his head slightly in confusion as he watched them gaze out over the lake.
