earlier that day daryl had a fight with one of the savoirs or whatever they were now that negan was over thrown well working on the bridge after one of them shoved Henry and stole the water from him takeing more then there fair share most of them never liked him anyways but during the fight they ended up ripping his shirt seeing the scars on his back and body they preyed on his biggest insecurity... he stormed off

not shortly after you followed you walked in on daryl changing because you heard a loud crash from the bathroom and wanted to make sure he was okay you walk in and see him in his boxers his clothes were on the floor since they were ripped and dirty and his clean ones were on the counter the mirror was smashed and his fist was bleeding his hands and body was shaking he had small cuts on his face and chest glass was all over his non bleeding hand was gripping the counter top hard he was staring down at his fist watching the blood drip from it

"S-shit" he mummbled his voice shakey and his breath heavy he looked in the shattered glass of the mirror and saw his father's reflection in it in his eyes as he looked at himself

"Daryl- " you muttered a bit shocked

he flinched at the sound of your voice quickly trying to hide his body from you his breath shaky and heavier now he hadn't heard you come in "don't look at me damnit"

"Hey- it's okay..." you walked closer being careful of the broken glass

he quickly backed up from you keeping his arm over his chest and abdomen "i-i'm fine j-just leave me alone" he said trying to keep his voice steady as you walked closer he was ashamed to let you see him like this he was afraid you would think of him differently

his chest rose and fell with each shaking breath, he was on the verge of tears he hadn't let himself be this vulnerable at least in front of someone this way since the prison and he hated himself for letting you see him like this
