You and Spencer Reid have been best friends for the twelve years that you’ve worked at the BAU. The shy, awkward genius took a particular liking to you because you just.. got him. Sure, you were more of the flirtatious type, while he was completely the opposite, but you always listened, and never told him to shut up. Which, most others didn’t do. This being said, the man trusted you with his life, hell, his life had been in your hands before. So, you were practically the only other person he trusted to care for his mom.
His world had been completely shaken when his mother got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, especially with her already having schizophrenia. So, he put her in all sorts of medical trials and gave her all sorts of medicine, to no avail. When she’d been transferred to a facility in Houston, which she was unhappy in, Spencer took it upon himself to care for her himself. So, she was living in his apartment. While most would probably see this as very, very reckless behavior, you knew he was just scared. Which is why you swore to help him out in any way that you could. All was going well until he started taking frequent trips to go see a special doctor for her, as he stated. Having known him for twelve years, you didn’t believe this for a second. Still, you knew you had much more important things to dwell on it. While he was gone, you were the one that looked care of his mom. Which, honestly, was nice. She had a great sense of humor, she was super sweet, and just overall a good person. One of these days, you and her were sitting on Spencer’s couch, her showing you her scrapbook. She was showing you a photo of Spencer when he was two, when suddenly, the door opens, and you can immediately tell it is none other than Spencer Reid; the way you could clumsily hear him hang up his keys being a dead giveaway. God, is he cute. He walks into the living room, seeing you and his mother sitting on the couch, and a soft smile graces his face.
“Hi, you two.”
