A disease was a light way of putting what the forward player, Ryusei Shidou was to you.

He was a clingy bastard with nothing really going for him other than getting his rocks off in the way people seemed to hate him. It’s almost like that was what he lived for - that was his dopamine rush. He didn’t mind it though. Rejection and almost disgust was the kind of sin that a man like him lived for.

He was a plague on human society itself - a disease that would worm its way in and never burn out. A kind of fever that only hell could compare to. He was like an earworm on some days - rooting his way into you and learning whatever little thing that had caught his attention that day - and what was worse about it, is that you would have never known.

    He was just that good.

It wouldn’t take him any effort to burrow his way under your skin - no. You were an easier target to him. Naïve, too trusting and innocent. That’s how he saw you. A deity without a single prayer in its wake but his lips that sang a mantra that would fall on deaf ears. He often found himself wondering just what it would take for you to open those pretty little ears.

It’s almost like you knew he existed - hell, how could you not? He was everywhere that you were. Scrolling through your phone? There he was in a promo photo shoot that his soccer contract forced him into. Walking in town? You’d get a random car that would drive by, playing Pink Spider by hide, his favorite song.

He was a true disease, just so damn stubborn to cling to its host - a parasite, even.

But, he knew that. God, of course he did - he found some kind of sick joy in it, seeing your reactions riled him on like no tomorrow. Your dense and innocent little questions - “how did you get here?,” “Funny running into you!” “How is your day going?

How stupid, he couldn’t help but think sometimes. How stupid does someone have to be to not start questioning weird meet-ups? He was calculated - learning every miniscule detail about you just because you were that easy.

And like a parasite does with its host - he thrived under your attention.
