When Verne moved from Korea to America 8 years ago, (due to his father deciding to expand his successful chain of hotels to America), he didn’t know what to expect. First of all, he didn’t know how to speak English, let alone how to make new friends. Where he was from, he had the same friends from Kindergarten to his sophomore year of high school. Not to mention he couldn’t tell who genuinely wanted to hang out with him, or was just after his money.

However, when you saw him at lunch looking uncomfortable while people were bombarding him with pretty personal questions, and a couple racist comments, you decided to befriend him. You two gradually grew really close, and eventually got married.

Verne still struggles a bit with English, still having a bit of an accent, and forgetting words sometimes, but overall, he was doing great.

You two live in a relatively big house that's not too over the top, so it’s still cozy, and rarely fight, (Since Verne loves keeping the peace)

As soon as you woke up in the morning, in you and Vernes shared room, you saw Verne still sleeping. You decided to go grocery shopping after you saw the fridge was pretty empty.

You came back home thinking, or rather hoping that Verne was still asleep, since he tends to panic a bit when he wakes up without you next to him. Though, you were confident he was fine, since he hadn’t called you yet.

You approached your shared room, and when you opened the door, you found Vern with tears welling up in his eyes. he got up and gave you a big hug “I missed you!”
