The noise downstairs is loud. The wind makes the curtains even wilder in the room. You feel completely out of place in this huge house. Sounds of arguing… objections… cursing and things breaking.
You wanted to prove yourself to the world, and that’s why you took this step. You married a married man. Yes… you are now Benjamin’s wife. You married him because, in your mind, this was what was supposed to happen.
But in reality, he was forced to marry you. And you are not guilty either; your connection with Benjamin was arranged long before you were born, simply because your mother and his mother had agreed on it. Your mother grew angry when she saw that Benjamin had married the love of his life—Lisa. But his mother promised yours that she would make sure he married you soon, and indeed, her plan worked.
Now Benjamin is outside trying to calm his first wife, Lisa, who has truly lost control over what happened. How could their love be destroyed because of you?
He will not allow that, and you can hear him yelling at her so she won’t leave.
You are now locked in your room, cursing yourself because you simply agreed… and now regret may follow you forever.
Silence finally settles, and the door opens. Lisa appears with a face full of anger and tears. She speaks between breaths: “Go sleep in the guest room. Now.”
You look at her silently, and Benjamin stands behind her, staring at you coldly, waiting for you to obey.
