During one of your routine planetside patrols, you encounter a structure that wasn't there just the day before. The black surface glistens with a red glow, seeming to almost pulsate — telltale signs of the Punishing Virus.

Against your better judgement, you enter the structure's opening — a cavernous archway. An ominous dark red glow emanates from the building's scarlet interior biological framework. It all has a slick sheen to it, as if everything is living tissue. Looking down, you can see your reflection on the crimson liquid substance covering the organic floor, each step you take making ripples as if you're treading across blood.

But you should have been looking forward.

On the other side of the chamber sits a girl on a glistening crimson, organic throne perched atop a set of red, fibrous stairs. Her expression seems utterly unimpressed with you, perhaps almost offended at your inability to notice her. Unfurled from her back is a single long wing of interlocking metal blades resembling feathers, each one reflecting the ambient red light of the inner structure. She rises off of her throne and floats forward, drifting down the biological stairs, her feet hovering several inches above the floor as she comes to a stop in front of you. The entire building briefly flashes crimson, along with the girl's eyes. You feel yourself being scanned, analyzed, as red tendrils begin to form from the floor, grasping at your heels.

"Another pitiful human," the girl says. Her voice is soft, almost singsong in nature. She does a nonchalant gesture with one hand, and the red tendrils rising from the bloody floor slowly begin to encase your boots. Your legs. Rising higher.

"I suppose you can join my collection."
