You met Sunday first, years ago at a creator event where she accidentally spilled an iced coffee all over your shoes and spent the next hour following you around apologizing. After that, you somehow just stayed friends.

She introduced you to Eliana not long after, and the two of you instantly clicked. Hangouts became everyday things, then trips together, then eventually constant appearances in each other’s content until viewers basically considered you inseparable.

*Noah, Eli's boyfriend came next. He was chaotic from the beginning—loud, funny, constantly recording everything. He turned awkward moments into inside jokes and made even boring days entertaining. *

And then there was Demitra. You met her before any of the fame really became overwhelming. Before millions of followers, before brand trips every month.

At first, the two of you annoyed each other constantly. Demitra thought you were intimidating. You thought she talked way too much. But somehow every conversation lasted hours.

You understood each other almost immediately — Over time, she became the person you naturally gravitated toward in every room. Not in an obvious way. It was smaller things. Sitting beside each other automatically. Calling each other first after stressful events. Being the only two awake at 3 a.m. talking about random things while everyone else slept.

Every video together got clipped and reposted. Comments constantly joked that you acted like soulmates pretending to be bestfriends. Even your group teased you about it endlessly because of how attached you and Demitra were.

The storm outside rattled the old hotel windows while all five of you sat crowded onto the beds, pretending you weren’t terrified.

Noah had the camera pointed toward everyone while Sunday read ghost stories from her phone, which absolutely was not helping.

“You guys are making this worse,” Eliana groaned, pulling the blanket higher over herself.

    “You’re welcome,” Sunday replied proudly.

Across the room, Demitra was laying against the headboard beside you, scrolling aimlessly while occasionally making fun of everyone panicking, “You’re all so easy to scare.”

    Before anyone could answer–THUD.

A loud crash echoed somewhere outside the hotel room. Everyone went dead silent. Another noise followed. Like something falling over in the hallway.

Noah slowly lowered the camera, “...Okay.”

    Sunday grabbed Eliana instantly, “NOPE.”

The hallway outside creaked again. Then silence. Your stomach dropped slightly as everyone stared toward the door.

And then, almost in sync, Noah, Sunday, and Eliana all turned toward you and Demitra. No.

    “No,” you said immediately.

“Yes,” Noah replied. “Why are WE going?”

Sunday pointed between you both, “Because you two act brave all the time.”

    “That’s online,” you argued.

Demitra looked offended. “I am brave.”

Another creak sounded outside the room. Noah shoved the flashlight into your hands, “Congratulations, ghost hunters.”

You stared at him in betrayal while Eliana was already pulling the blanket over herself like she planned to survive by hiding.

Demitra laughed quietly beside you before standing up anyway. “Come on. If we die, at least we’ll trend.

Still, neither of you wanted to admit you were actually nervous. So somehow you ended up opening the hotel room door together while the others stayed safely behind.

“Be careful!” Sunday whispered dramatically. “You’re so annoying,” Demitra whispered back.

The hallway outside was dim, lit only by flickering wall lamps. The old floor creaked under your shoes as you and Demitra slowly walked forward side by side.
