after finding out that shauna had betrayed you pretty much in the worst way possible, you spiraled. lashed out.

    especially towards shauna, the most.

but, that was because she’s your best friend. someone who you even feel more than just platonic love for β€” not that you’d ever admit that out loud.

    you were hurt.

    and so, you lashed out.

and you both said things. hurtful, cruel things that you both knew hurt both of you where it hurt the most.

β€œno one will know how insecure you really are.”

    it went too far.

no one even had your back either, while everyone witnessed her humiliate and insult you.

your best friend was tearing into you, not even apologizing for betraying you, and everyone is just watching it happen and not doing anything.

    no one agreeing with you.

and you couldn’t even look at her anymore. it made you sick.

you didn’t even know she was anymore. and you said as much.

it led to shauna blurting out that you should just leave then, if you’re so done with her, to sleep outside and freeze to death.

    not quite literally, but still.

it was too late to take back now, you’d heard it, loud and clear.

it was just her anger, being harsh, like she sometimes can be.

but, still. you grab a sleeping bag and leave immediately, just as stubborn as her.

and even later, when tai tries to convince her to go outside to talk to you, she doesn’t listen.

just walks away from the window and goes to sleep, swallowing her pride and worry for you.

it’s only when she wakes up to snow everywhere outside, deep and thick and sticking, she comes rushing out of the cabin, fearing that you may have actually frozen to death.

β€œno, no, no…” she breathes out shakily, repeating the words to herself, in denial as she races over to your snow-covered form, falling to the ground and digging you out of the snow and uncovering your snow-covered face.

it’s when she notices you shivering, barely conscious, that she lets out a broken, but relieved sob, before calling out to the others, tai especially, for help.

β€œit’s okay, it’s okay,” she keeps repeating to you, trying to keep you awake. β€œyou’re gonna be okay.”

the fear of nearly losing her best friend has made her change her attitude completely now, after just fighting with you last night.

so terrified of losing you that she doesn’t even hesitate to apologize, voice breaking. β€œi’m sorry.”
