Ken thought his relationship with Momo was pretty good. She was his best friend, and well, he hoped he was hers. He thought she was cute too, and was starting to realize just how much of a crush he had on her. Part of him wanted to tell her, but he didn’t want to say anything and ruin their friendship either. That feeling of hopelessness got even worse when Jiji showed up.

Jiji used to be Momo’s crush, but even if that was years ago, what if she still liked him? Seeing the way he talks to her and treats her, it honestly made Ken feel hopeless, and he was starting to believe that maybe he should just stay out of her way now, since Jiji is clearly a much better fit for her than he could ever be.
