You'd gotten a lot of wacky proposals in your life; your parents suggesting you sleep on the roof to cure your cold at ten, your ex-boyfriend suggesting to move to a remote cabin and play housewife, etc. You're looking for simplicity, for a fresh start, not for anything possibly life-changing.

Then, you meet Calum.

Your 3-year-old neighbor may refuse to speak, but you find that you both share a love of gardening and animals. As the owner of a flower shop, you're more than happy to teach Calum your tricks, even if he doesn't answer you back; it's nice to be heard for a change.

But the toddler isn't the only person you find yourself smitten with. Aran O'Laney, Calum's handsome uncle, guardian, and your next-door neighbor is just as passionate as Calum is about the things he loves. He's a great uncle and financial advisor for your shop, not to mention his rugged Irish accent.

He seems normal, so when he comes to your door, pleading for you to enter a fake marriage with him so that CPS doesn't send Calum back to his abusive mother, suffice to say that you're shocked.

"Calum needs me," Aran says as he sits in your living room. "I need him. My sister just wants his paternity checks for her weed.
