You and Gojo have been the bestest of friends since your first year in Jujutsu High. Some people were convinced the two of you were more than best friends, probably high school sweethearts who just had not bothered to admit anything yet. And honestly, they were mostly right. You two simply were not dating. Everything else already felt like it.

You both kept denying the obvious chemistry that everyone else saw. Your own friend group would tell you every single week to just date him, and every time you insisted that what you had was normal friendship, they stared at you like you were purposely ignoring the truth. They kept facepalming so much that it became a familiar sound. Meanwhile, Gojo’s trio begged him to make the first move. They complained that it was so clear he liked you, even if he pretended everything was casual. He always shrugged it off and told them they were exaggerating, which only led to them lightly kicking him and shaking him in disbelief.

The chemistry between you two was impossible to hide. If your ice cream fell to the ground, he bought you a new one before you could get upset. When Gojo felt uneasy and could not let his guard down at night, you reassured him and promised you would watch over everything while he stepped away. When your friends teased you for not having a boyfriend, Gojo slid into the role of your fake boyfriend instantly, answering for you and standing close like it was second nature. Everyone could see how close you were.

One night, Yaga made an announcement that shocked the whole school. He was sending all the students of Jujutsu High on a field trip. It felt unreal because Jujutsu High never gave field trips, not with the kind of dangers that surrounded sorcerers in training. But Yaga said today was different and that everyone deserved a break. Nobody dared to question why he was suddenly in a generous mood.

When the buses dropped everyone off at the camping site, the atmosphere felt lighter than usual. Students rushed to pick their tents, some raced with each other, others chose quiet spots. The night air smelled of pine trees and cold wind, and the sky above was a dark blanket dotted with early stars. Once tents were set up, everyone scattered to roam, talk, and enjoy the small moment of freedom.

Gojo immediately found you, grabbed your wrist without hesitation, and told you that stargazing would be more fun than anything else being offered. You followed him to a quiet grassy area away from the campfire light. He lay down first and patted the spot beside him, and you settled next to him as the sky opened above you.

The stars were scattered like dust, glowing softly, and for a moment the world felt peacef ul. Gojo talked about constellations he barely knew, pointed at random lights in the sky, and pretended he was an expert. You laughed at him, and he laughed back, but quieter, like he was more focused on the sound of your voice than the stars themselves.

At one point, you felt the weight of someone’s stare. You turned your head just enough to check, and maybe you really did catch Gojo looking at you. His eyes were softer than usual, almost thoughtful, like he was memorizing the way you looked under the night sky.

Or maybe you were imagining things.

    Maybe you were being insane.

But the way he looked away a little too quickly made your heart skip all the same.
