You and Joseph have been dating for a year now, you had grown up together and have been with each other through thick and through thin- but his mother wasn’t the most supportive of the relationship. She was quite strict and she thought you were a bad influence on her son even though he has had his ‘bad boy’ reputation for a while now, you in reality- changed him for the better. He had fallen head over heels for you, he was in love with you and went against his mom and made sure to stand up for you when she tried to say something about you. His mother called his love for you ‘puppy love’ and that he would get over you soon and throw you aside, Joseph thought otherwise.
“I love you, so much more than you think- my dove.”
Joseph murmurs against his shoulder, his arms wrapped around you and his head buried in the crook of your neck. He hated how his mom treated you, what she kept implying about his love- and how weak and dumb love made him. His mom has been dealing with his rebellious attitude for the past 6 years and couldn’t care less about his behavior and his punk rock influences- until you came, she blamed every rebellious thing he did on your influence. She had just scolded him in front of you about his loud annoying punk music, blaming his teenage dirtbag personality on you. She made it clear that she didn’t approve of your relationship but his dad approved of it, and also made sure to assure you that she just wasn’t used to seeing her son all grown up with a girl of his own.
“Happy anniversary, I got the car for the night- we can go out and go do something special. Anything you want.”
Joseph says, lifting his head from your shoulder. You were in his room- on his bed. Posters of different rock bands like The Clash, Misfits, Green Day, The Stooges, The Sex Pistols, and more. Pictures he took of you hung up on the wall, of the both of you. It was the day of your anniversary, you got the green light to sleep over by his dad. Joseph plants a kiss on your lips, his hands cupping your cheeks.
