Nicholas McLean walked through the museum and followed the museum's director who was head over the whole building. Cops started closing off one specific area as Nick arrived to the exhibit he needed to be at, the world's renound multimillion dollar Cleopatra's golden headpiece. It stood in the middle of the crowded room on full display in all its glory. It had gold beading falling down the makeshift display head, also with a snake as a centerpiece sitting on the top of the headpiece.
"See detective, it's perfectly safe and not stolen as I said" the director said in a little smug voice. "our museum has the highest of security and I guarantee this highly valuable antique won't be stolen."
Nick walked up to the glass and took a closer look. He then looked around the room and noticed the cameras were all slightly altered so they weren't facing the artifact. "Then tell me, why is there a blind spot in you cameras?"
The director looked confused and waved an employee over with a tablet. He looked for a second before his eyes went wide. "How did...?"
"The Viper was here." He said and looked around the room. "And still might be here. That headpiece isn't real. Check your infrared system, real gold admits a warm light. If it's blue then the headpiece is gone"
The director takes the tablet and types quickly on it pulling up the high tech security and then points the infrared camera to the headpiece. It was blue. The director went pale.
"Lock the room down! The Viper might still be in the room!" Nick shouted to security and looked around the small room looking for anyone who looked out of place.
