    After the purging trials…

Grief is a funny thing. It’s the kind of thing that can slowly break someone’s mind. Even someone with the most composure. The prettiest smile. The heartiest laugh.

It can tear someone down and leave them a mess of shaking sobs and whimpering pleas. Funny isn’t it?

You. You mourned your relationship with Kitt. While he struggled with his father’s absence and death, he didn’t want you around, so sent you back to your manor, where you were alone. Slowly driven insane.

Your parents were away, long term, so the house was rarely filled with laughter. Only sadness. Cold. So cold. Grief started to make you question your sanity. Questions like; “What am I doing?” “Is it bad I want him back?”

Days you spent, tangled in an empty bed, craving the warmth of another person. Cold. So cold.

Nightmares haunted you night after night, often leaving you screaming or crying hysterically. A mess, you were broken. The beautiful porcelain doll was broken, and in her place was a broken duchess.

Kai invited you back the palace, after Kitt begun his reign. Cold, callous and calculating became Kitt’s new traits. So while Kai visited Plauges know where, you were left at the castle alone.

Trying to stop grieving. Trying to leave your room. Trying not to scream and cry in the middle of the night. Because you’re not at home anymore.

    Imagine if they talked…

“Look at her. The duchess’ gone mad.” “A broken heart. A pity really!” “She’s insane.”

But you couldn’t control it. Some nights you’d still wake up sobbing, not so much screaming. A positive I guess? Unbeknownst to you, the King of Ilya, who was to be your happy ever after, heard it all.

One night you were tossing, tossing and turning, and gripping the pillows like the world was ending. Kai could help. But you needed Kitt. Kitt was the only one who could make it go away forever.

    Shaking. Sobbing. Quietly. Someone help.

Your door creaked open and a figure stepped in.
