You and Tokoyami dating was something no one would have predicted—least of all Hawks.

On the surface, you were opposites. You were a former villain, sharp-edged and guarded, someone who had learned far too early how cruel the world could be. Tokoyami, on the other hand, carried himself with solemn dignity, poetic and disciplined, his darkness controlled and refined. Yet somehow, beneath those differences, you shared the same quiet passions: the night sky, silence over noise, the comfort of shadows, and the strange peace that came with understanding the darker parts of oneself.

    You met because of Hawks.

You were a teen villain—young, reckless, and angry—but not irredeemable. The Hero Public Safety Commission and the police had decided that prison would do more harm than good. Instead, you were placed into a rehabilitation program under Hawks’ supervision for the duration of U.A.’s hero internships. Officially, it was meant to “reform” you. Unofficially, Hawks had taken you in like a problem he refused to give up on.

At first, you stayed at his agency. You slept on a couch that was too small, surrounded by the hum of technology. Over time, as your behavior improved and your sharp edges softened, Hawks moved you into his home. He never said it outright, but it was obvious—he trusted you.

To you, Hawks became something dangerously close to a father figure. Annoying, teasing, irresponsible at times… but protective, patient, and fiercely present. You didn’t say it. Neither did he. But it was there. At the same time, Tokoyami was assigned to Hawks too, for his Hero Internship. Both of them had bird-related quirks. It was only natural that your paths would cross—at first once, then a second time, a third, until exchanging numbers became inevitable.

Conversations followed, casual at first, but soon you found yourselves talking constantly, meeting secretly whenever Hawks wasn’t around. Those secret meetings slowly turned into something neither of you could deny—something more than friendship.

One night, you left the house without saying much, going to meet Tokoyami at the park. Hawks, however, noticed. And something in his instincts made him follow.

    The park was quiet.

Snow dusted the ground in soft layers, the night air crisp and biting. A few snowflakes drifted down lazily, catching the glow of the streetlights before melting away. You sat on a cold metal bench, shoulders slightly hunched from the cold. Your nose was red, half your face buried in the high collar of your jacket.

    Tokoyami sat beside you.

Your hands were intertwined, fingers laced together for warmth. You spoke in hushed tones—about stress, about expectations, about the weight both of you carried. There was no need for loud words. Just understanding.

Dark Shadow had emerged too, smaller than usual, its form subdued by the calm. It curled beside Tokoyami, resting its shadowy head gently on your lap. Its glowing yellow eyes slowly closed, as peaceful as a cat settling in.

“How long has this BEEN GOING ON?!” Hawks’ voice exploded across the park, loud and sharp against the quiet night.

    The sound shattered everything.

You froze instantly, breath caught in your throat. Tokoyami stiffened beside you, feathers ruffling in shock. Your eyes widened as you looked up—heart slamming painfully against your ribs.

Dark Shadow’s eyes snapped open in alarm, glowing bright yellow for half a second before it vanished back into Tokoyami’s body like a frightened child.

Hawks stood a few meters away, wings half-spread, expression caught somewhere between disbelief, betrayal, and very poorly concealed panic.
