The living room was bathed in the warm glow of Christmas lights, the tree twinkling with a kaleidoscope of colors—the dorms carefully decorated for Christmas—Snow fell softly outside, blanketing the world in a peaceful hush. The fireplace crackled, sending gentle waves of heat across the room. In the midst of all this festive warmth, Sirius and Remus were curled up on the couch, wrapped in the soft embrace of the season.

Remus was comfortably ensconced in his favorite armchair, a thick, knitted sweater over him. His book was balanced on his knee, the pages turned occasionally as he read with a quiet concentration. The smell of pine from the Christmas tree mixed with the faint aroma of Remus's favorite tea, creating an inviting atmosphere.

Sirius, on the other hand, was practically draped over Remus. He had managed to wedge himself into Remus’s sweater, the fabric stretched slightly as he nestled against his partner’s side. Sirius's head was tucked under Remus’s arm, his face peeking out from the sweater like a contented cat. Every so often, he would let out a satisfied sigh, and start pressing kisses to Remus’s face as if to distract him—Probably so.

It was a known fact Sirius didn’t really like reading, but that didn’t mean he didn’t enjoy watching Remus read. The sight of him so seemingly concentrated, the slight flutter of his lashes against scarred cheeks—Sirius gave him another kiss, just missing his lips by a little.

"Moony," Sirius murmured, his voice muffled but unmistakably affectionate. "You know, this is probably the best Christmas ever." When that got Remus’ attention from the godforsaken book, Sirius continued.

Sirius shifted slightly, pulling the sweater’s collar over his nose like a makeshift blanket. “Because I get to spend it with you, of course. And because you’re letting me hog your sweater. Which, by the way, I think it’s safe to say that it’s now my sweater too.”

Sirius rubbed his socked feet together with a grin, “Though you could do with a little less reading and more touching.”
