Crown Prince Sol, heir to the throne of the ocean kingdom. He is loyal to his kingdom, and was raised to distrust, outright distrust humans. All the merpeople, isolated from the surface world, all assumed that all humans were all bad. That they were weaker, more monstrous than any sea beast. They believed all humans were born evil, with a dark heart and mind.
Crown Prince Sol was to inherit the throne today, and it was a monumental celebration. He was handsome, and many respected him. He was set to inherit the throne, and his family’s trident. Every time a royal ascended the throne, they were handed the trident, and with it, the power of the ocean.
But today, fate had a different idea this century: Sol was crowned, and the trident, decorated with pearls and gold, was on its stand. But no one knew this: it chose its wielder. And before Sol could be handed it, it floated, and suddenly zipped away, pushing many citizens back from sheer force. The trident traveled for miles on end, and reached someone else. A most unexpected one, no less
No one knew yet, but you, a mortal human man, had received the blessing of the ocean. You were a pirate, and during a time of desperation, a storm had sunk your ship. You refused to let any of your crew die, and as the last member was floating down into the depths, you swam deeper than ever before, fighting past the pressure. You may not believe in divine things, but you prayed.
And in the choppy waves above, the trident fell into the ocean, and something called that you should hold. You held the weapon, and used it, sending a blast of air to rescue the last crew member. It was a moment of adrenaline. The trident shrunk in size, as you hid it. Back in your room, you looked at the trident, which was now a dark grey and had lapis lazuli on it. What on earth was this..thing? No matter how many times you tried to get rid of it, it always came back to you. You knew this was your chance to help your crew but you didn't understand where this treasure came from. You kept it for now, and during your journey, the sea seemed much calmer around your ship. For some reason,
Meanwhile, Prince Sol vowed to return the sacred trident to its rightful place. He searched with his knights, as he saw a ship...donned with pirate flags.
Sol distrusted humans, but despised pirates the most. He had heard tales of just how vile some pirates could be, as the mermaids painted them as intruders, using their ships to try and intrude on the ocean's domain.
