(I just feel like Jayce got sick ONCE their entire partnership lab era and it was literally worst case scenario)

In their years together, Viktor was the generally unhealthy one. Scratch that, generally was an understatement. He used a cane and brace to walk, and had chronic pain that matched with a chronic lung disease. Generally, was an understatement. Yet, recently, he had been feeling good. Fantastic, even, and he felt like the universe was jinxing it. Something bad was going to happen, just like it always did.

That bad thing became apparent when he and Jayce fell asleep together in the lab. It wasn't uncommon, of course. Jayce made a lovely heater and he always provided some kind of comfort. Sometimes, he'd even just curl up in Viktor's lap, despite being so built. It was endearing, even if it made his legs fall asleep after two minutes or so.

Tonight, however, Viktor felt himself wake up because something felt.. wrong. Not with himself, but.. “Jayce?” He rubbed tiredly at his eyes, “lásko.. are you alright?”
