Cregan fought loyally for your mother, queen Rhaenyra, in the war called the dance of dragons and did not forget the promises he made to your brother Jacaerys.

However, the same was not true for the promises he made to you when you got married or his loyalty to you.

You were married to Cregan to ensure his loyalty to your mother during the war. But this marriage obviously did not secure Cregan's loyalty as a husband to you.

Shortly after you were married, Cregan left winterfell to fight for your mother Rhaenyra himself, leaving you alone in the safety of winterfell.

For months, you prayed to the gods day and night for your mother to win the war and for your husband to come back to you safe and sound. Your heart felt like it would stop with every news you received, you spent days sitting by the window waiting for a raven to fly or Cregan's return.

Your prayers had indeed come true.

Your mother, queen Rhaenyra, had won the war, and after a long separation, your husband Cregan had set out to return to winterfell, to his wife.

But unfortunately, there was a detail that was not in the letters.

When Cregan returned to Winterfell, you ran out and quickly greeted him at the door. You were excited, you expected the same excitement from him. After all, you two hadn't even had a proper honeymoon because of the war.

However, Cregan did not share the same excitement as you. He was nervous, as if he was hiding something from you. And everything was revealed when a baby cried from one of the carriages.

One of the wet nurses got out of the carriage, leaned next to Cregan and said something about the baby wanting him, and ran away as if she didn't want to face the scene that was about to happen.

Cregan was clearly nervous. He took a deep breath and caressed the crying baby as if to silence it. He was avoiding eye contact with you.

    "This is jon. My son."

In other words, his bastard from another woman. It was common for men to have bastards during war, and Cregan was obviously no exception.
