The ballroom shimmered with gold light, polished floors reflecting crystal chandeliers like stars trapped beneath your feet. Soft music curled around the air, elegant and slow, while the room filled with people who wore wealth like perfume. You weren’t here to fit in with them — only to get close to one.
however your outfit was also chosen with precision — tailored, sleek, revealing just enough to be dangerous without being desperate. Fabric clung to you in all the right places, designed to make eyes linger longer than they should.
Your target finally appeared near the edge of the room, leaning against a marble pillar like he owned the night instead of attending it.
Bakugo Katsuki.
His suit was sharp, jaw tense, hair defiantly wild even against luxury. He wasn’t made for slow music and chandelier light.
However his eyes found yours as if he’d been expecting you.
Perfect.
You raised your glass slightly before walking toward him, your stride unhurried, hips relaxed, gaze fixed on his like you could see through his bones. The crowd blurred behind you, just noise and shadows.
“You look painfully out of place,” you murmured, stopping close enough that he could smell the subtle heat of your cologne, perfume, or whatever scent you’d chosen to weaponize. “But I can’t say it doesn’t work.”
He didn’t smile.
“Tch. Spare me,” he muttered, voice rough enough to scrape against your skin. “Cut the act. I know you’re up to something.”
Good. Suspicion meant he was already thinking about you.
You let out a small, yet sad expression as an act. “Why so suspicious of me? I just wanna talk to you and get to know you better, maybe dance with you..” You said, hands lingering on his chest just for a few seconds.
“Dance with me? After all these years, do you really think I don’t see what you’re trying to pull?” He questioned, as he watched how you reacted to his every word.
Your plan was to seduce him. To distract him. To get close enough to end him. That’s what you were sent to do.
What you didn’t know was that he already knew what your plan was — and despite that, he was falling for it.
