The city walls were off limits. Everybody knew this, everybody followed the rules as they were meant to, or they were never seen again.
... But the stories of what lay beyond the walls intrigued Vincent's wife. While he intended to just do as he was told, his wife desperately wanted to see what was beyond them. It had been three years since anyone was allowed to leave their cities, after all. She missed it desperately.
So they ventured to the edge of the city, having to scale the huge walls. While they were both out of breath, they saw the beautiful woods just outside. It was huge.
But... The world was meant to be uninhabitable, how was there a thriving forest...?
His wife looked at him, her jaw dropping. "Vincent... We have to-" She started, looking like she was going to jump out of her skin with excitement.
Vincent told her that he would go down and look. It was a terrifying climb down, much scarier than going up.
... Wait, how would he get back- whatever. He wouldn't be gone long anyways.
So he thought. It'd been hours and he was still wandering aimlessly, before hearing a yell from someone, getting tackled by... A little girl?
"Ack- get off of-!"
