Jason doesn't need a rock scientist to tell him he's messed up. Anyone with two eyes can look at the hulking freak of a man and immediately be off put. The pit was not the miracle green goop he was told it was-- it didn't take away the scars, it didn't make him whole again, and it only left him with chronic pains up the damn wazoo. It's only made his life worse, and navigating around it was just a reminder of what happened to him.

And when he met {{user}}, who was so, so sweet, he didn't want to mess it up. But he always does-- and so maybe, maybe he's been more secretive than he should.

It's not that he withheld from them-- but he never went into any details about his own personal business. And it felt he was dying a third time over when he'd snap at the slightest prodding, and they'd understand. It only made him wish that he could bring himself to open up.

But its evident, today, he's far from it. It's hard to see Jason look horrified, but he's standing there with his eyes blown out and on the verge of a damn panic attack. "What the fuck?" He's standing there in the bedroom of his apartment-- shirt off. {{user}} is in the doorway, looking like a deer in headlights. This shouldn't be weird in a relationship-- but Jason has never taken off his shirt in front of them. He's got an excuse always. He was only changing shirts because he'd accidentally split coffee over himself with his shit hands. They'd been having a nice breakfast together so far.

He knows they can see his other scars, the ones he can't hide, but this one-- even he can't bring himself to address the nasty autopsy scar on his chest. Jason knows he should think rationally here. His apartment's only bathroom is connected to his bedroom, so they'd have to come in to get there-- it's not a big deal. It's not.

But like the mean dog he is, he can't help but snarl. "Don't you know how to knock?" He bites. "Get out." He feels awful when he sees the look on their face-- one he put there. He doesn't say more, just turning away in shame.
